Privacy Policy

Accessibilify (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is operated by Next Door Multimedia LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website at accessibilify.org, our iOS mobile application, and our AI-powered compliance walkthrough platform (collectively, the “Service”). This policy applies to all users of the Service, whether accessing it via the web or our mobile app.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and organization details. Authentication is managed by Clerk, Inc., a third-party identity provider. We store a reference to your Clerk account alongside your profile information in our database.

1.2 Onboarding Data

During onboarding, we collect your organization type (individual or agency), audit type (e.g., foster home, OSHA, ADA, fire code), and organization name. This information is used to configure your audit experience and tailor compliance standards to your needs.

1.3 Location & Property Information

To perform compliance walkthroughs, you provide us with your property address, home details (number of bedrooms, bathrooms), and safety feature information (e.g., whether you have a pool, firearms, pets, or care for infants/toddlers). You may also upload floor plans of your property.

1.4 Video & Image Data

Our Service enables you to record video walkthroughs of your property using a smartphone camera or AI-enabled smart glasses (such as Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses). These video files are uploaded to our servers for automated analysis. Videos may contain images of the interior and exterior of your property, personal belongings, and other visual information captured during the walkthrough.

1.5 Audio Data

When you use the voice-guided walkthrough feature or voice commands within the mobile app, audio is recorded via your device’s microphone. Audio recordings are used to facilitate the walkthrough experience. Text prompts may be sent to a third-party text-to-speech service (ElevenLabs) to generate spoken guidance — only the text prompt is sent, not your audio recordings or any personal data.

1.6 Device & Glasses Connection Data

If you use Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses with the mobile app, the Meta Wearables DAT SDK communicates with Meta’s services for device registration and pairing. This connection data is used solely to enable hands-free video capture and is processed according to Meta’s Privacy Policy.

1.7 App Preferences (Mobile)

The mobile app stores certain preferences locally on your device, including onboarding completion status and API configuration. This data is stored in the device’s local storage (UserDefaults on iOS) and is not transmitted to our servers.

1.8 AI Analysis Data

We process your video recordings using artificial intelligence technologies, including object detection models (YOLO) and vision language models (LLMs), to identify compliance-relevant items such as smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, outlet covers, window guards, and other safety features. The results of this analysis — including compliance findings, scores, and recommendations — are stored in our database and associated with your account.

1.9 Usage Data

We automatically collect certain information when you access the Service, including your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and timestamps. We use Vercel Analytics for privacy-friendly, anonymized website analytics.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

3. Video & Audio Data Processing

Your video recordings are uploaded directly to Amazon Web Services (AWS) S3 storage using secure, time-limited presigned URLs. Videos are processed by our automated analysis pipeline, which runs on AWS Lambda. After processing is complete, video files are retained for a reasonable period to allow you to review your reports and re-run analyses. You may request deletion of your video data at any time by contacting us.

Audio recordings captured during voice-guided walkthroughs are processed similarly. Text-to-speech requests sent to ElevenLabs contain only the spoken prompt text and no personal information.

We do not sell, share, or provide your video or audio recordings to any third party except as necessary to operate the Service (e.g., AWS for storage and processing).

4. AI & Automated Decision-Making

Our Service uses AI to analyze video footage and identify compliance-relevant items. This analysis is automated and produces findings categorized as compliant, non-compliant, or needs review. These findings are informational only and do not constitute legal advice, a professional inspection, or an official compliance determination. You should always consult qualified professionals and your local licensing authority for definitive compliance assessments.

5. Third-Party Services & SDKs

We use the following third-party services and SDKs to operate the platform:

We do not share your personal data with any third parties beyond those listed above, except as described in Section 6.

6. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:

No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Video recordings and analysis results are retained for a reasonable period to support your use of the Service. You may request deletion of your data at any time. Upon account deletion, we will remove your personal information, video data, and audio data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

App preferences stored locally on your device (such as onboarding status) are removed when you uninstall the mobile app.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will promptly delete it. The Service is designed for use by adults, including homeowners, foster parents, facility managers, and compliance professionals.

11. Cookies & Tracking

We use essential cookies for authentication (managed by Clerk) and session management. We use Vercel Analytics, which is privacy-friendly and does not use cookies or track individual users. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.

12. California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your California privacy rights, please contact us at privacy@accessibilify.org.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the “Effective Date” above. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
